There are venues with views and then there are venues that feel completely rooted in purpose. If you’re looking for an immersive vibe in your venue, you’re going to want to keep reading! The Camden County Boathouse sits along the Cooper River, where rustic textures and refined details come together in a space that feels both modern and welcoming. Think vaulted ceilings, reclaimed beams, sculptural chandeliers and two stories of natural light all overlooking the Philadelphia skyline. With room to host up to 200 guests, the space is designed for gatherings that feel both intimate and expansive.
The Camden County Boathouse has a backdrop that shifts with the light, offering couples a setting that feels alive from ceremony through the last dance.

Most couples choose to have their ceremony right at the water’s edge. The Cooper River stretches wide behind the ceremony space and on a lucky day, a sailboat drifts past, immersing guests into the landscape. The newly added matrimony garden, complete with pavers and a white pergola, creates a natural focal point while keeping the skyline and river in view.
For couples looking to add their own touch, the Boathouse’s flexibility makes it easy to design an aisle and altar setup that feels personal without losing the beauty of the surroundings. Think show-stopping florals, a custom champagne-wall… collaborate with your vendors to make your vision come to life!
Note: Outdoor ceremony chairs are not provided by the venue, but caterers can assist with rentals. See Amenities & What’s Included section for more information.
And if the weather has other plans? The Boathouse offers an indoor option that’s just as inviting. With vaulted ceilings, chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling windows, the ballroom transforms into a light-filled backdrop for your vows while still keeping the river and sky within view. Keep reading for more info on the ballroom space!
Note: For indoor ceremonies, catering staff will transform the ballroom during cocktail hour so the space is reception-ready.

If there’s one space that sets the Camden County Boathouse apart, it’s the wrap-around porch overlooking the Cooper River. This is where cocktail hour comes alive. Guests mingle with skyline views, a glass in hand, as the natural light shifts across the water. It’s the perfect in-between moment…festive, relaxed and effortlessly scenic.
As a photographer, one of my favorite photo opportunities is bringing the couple downstairs by the dock during cocktail hour. While loved ones cheer from above, the couple gets to pause and take in the celebration unfolding around them. It’s often one of the most emotional and grounding moments of the day, a chance to see your people, all gathered in one place, celebrating you!
This is also a space where you can get creative. Think show-stopping florals framing the porch, a custom champagne wall, or signature cocktails passed as guests arrive. Work with your vendor team to make cocktail hour a reflection of your personality while keeping the riverfront views front and center.

Inside, the Boathouse transforms into a dramatic yet inviting space for your reception. A built-in dance floor anchors the main level, while sculptural chandeliers glow against the vaulted ceilings. Tables and black Chiavari chairs are included for up to 200 guests, with the option of four handmade farm tables for a head table, dessert display, or creative seating layouts.
The ballroom is designed to balance elegance with flexibility. Whether you’re dreaming about long rows of family-style dining or round tables accented with towering centerpieces, the space adapts beautifully! And for an unforgettable moment, couples can slip upstairs during the reception for portraits framed by the lights of the Philadelphia skyline.

As a photographer, the Boathouse offers a variety of backdrops that evolve throughout the day:
The Riverfront – Natural, open views with water as your backdrop.
The Observation Deck – The Philadelphia skyline from the very top of the building.
The Wrap-Around Porch – A romantic in-between space during cocktail hour.
The Ceremony Garden – Lush greenery and the pergola anchor your vow exchange.
Golden Hour on the River – The Cooper River shoreline and dock leading out to the water gives you dreamy, cotton-candy skies.
Whether it’s a sailboat slipping into the background during your vows or a quiet moment upstairs, this venue has built-in magic for portraits that feel intentional.

Couples don’t just book the Boathouse for its views, they choose it because it’s equipped for both convenience and creativity. Here’s what you can expect onsite:
For couples, this means less stress sourcing basics and more freedom to design a floor-plan and aesthetic that reflects your story.

One unique detail about the Camden County Boathouse is that catering is handled exclusively through their preferred partners. These aren’t just food vendors, they’re full-scale event teams who often provide the extra support couples need on a wedding day. Since the Boathouse does not have its own in-house coordinator, your caterer is usually the one who supplies a maître d’, bridal specialist, or event manager to guide the timeline, oversee service and make sure your day flows seamlessly.
Here’s a breakdown of the four preferred caterers and what sets each apart:
📍 Cherry Hill, NJ
Andreotti’s began as a restaurant and that love for food still shows in their menus! Their style leans into classic, refined catering with an Italian influence—think antipasto stations, handmade pasta and elaborate entrée pairings.

Coordination: Yes — each package includes their exclusive maître d’ service, plus an event coordinator who works one-on-one with couples during planning.
Couples Who Love Them: Pairs who want a traditional, elegant dining experience with a mix of plated service and indulgent late-night snacks.
📍 Mullica Hill, NJ
Ciconte’s brings together approachable, hearty menus with plenty of room for customization. They emphasize flexibility while still offering a polished presentation.

No matter who you choose, each caterer brings more than food to the table, they bring the event coordination support that makes weddings at the Boathouse run smoothly. This partnership is essential since the venue itself does not have an in-house coordinator.
Plan for riverfront light. Sunset over the Cooper River is worth building into your timeline. Schedule a few minutes away from the crowd for portraits as the light fades.
Use the farm tables strategically. They’re not just rustic accents, they photograph beautifully as head tables or dessert displays.
Make the most of the upstairs deck. During the reception, sneak away for a quick, private skyline moment! It’s often the couple’s favorite photo of the day.
Ask about vendor access. Caterers and vendors are familiar with the Boathouse’s setup, which makes the flow seamless from ceremony to reception.
The Boathouse is central for both local and traveling guests, minutes from Philadelphia, near I-295, I-676, Route 42, and the Walt Whitman and Ben Franklin bridges. With complimentary parking and easy highway access, it’s a stress-free choice for large guest counts.
The Camden County Boathouse is designed for experiences that feel natural, elevated and unique. From a sailboat drifting past as you exchange vows to late-night portraits with the skyline glowing behind you, every moment here feels grounded in its surroundings.
