Overlook Park is huge and honestly, a little confusing if you’ve never been. But don’t worry, I’ve got you! If you’re dreaming of those tall trees, here’s the secret: head toward the playground. The address will drop you off at the golf course. Take the road toward the community center until you see the playground.
From there, follow the paved trail straight back and you’ll find yourself in the middle of one of the dreamiest tree-covered areas in Lancaster County. It’s tucked away right next to the tennis courts, so it’s super easily accessible, yet a bit private.
If you want to see the sun flare through the trees, start your session about two hours before sunset. The sun will be high enough to shine through the branches but not so low that it’s hidden.
The sun filters perfectly through the tall pines and into the open fields. There’s a certain kind of light at Overlook—warm, glowy, and soft enough to make everything feel like a memory in the making.
Overlook Park might just be one of Lancaster County’s most underrated gems for engagement photos. Wide open skies, golden fields, and some of the tallest, most cinematic trees you’ll ever walk beneath! It checks all the boxes for a session that feels grounded, relaxed and effortless.
When Carli and Walter told me they wanted photos that felt natural, whimsical, full of movement and a little nostalgic, we knew this was the place. Carli had been eyeing Overlook Park for years and the second we stepped under the trees, it was clear why.
We planned their session 2 hours before sunset, which meant the sun filtered perfectly through the tall pines and into the open fields.
We wandered between tree-lined paths and wide open fields, stopping to soak in every ounce of sun. The barn in the distance added the perfect backdrop without pulling too much attention and the entire park felt private and calm, even in golden hour. A spring bonus: the gorgeous flowering tree!
It’s one of those places where you can truly be. No pressure, no posing… just the two of you in a place that lets you slow down and enjoy the moment. That’s what makes Overlook Park so special for engagement sessions.
If you’re planning engagement photos in Lancaster County and want a place that offers both romance and space to breathe, Overlook Park is one of my go-to recommendations.
Want to plan a session that feels like you? I help every couple create a session that’s personal and relaxed! Reach out here and let’s make it happen.
