Right along the Cooper River, the Camden County Boathouse is one of the most unique wedding venues in the region. Picture this: waterfront views, rooftop portrait access and a setting that feels both peaceful and unexpectedly vibrant… It’s a best kept secret for sure!
Christine and Jarrett’s August wedding brought all of that to life. With the breeze off the river, soft light and a couple who were genuinely thrilled to celebrate their day together, it felt like summer in every way.
Christine got ready at their home in Blackwood, New Jersey, surrounded by her besties and family. From the second I walked in, the energy was calm and fun. She and her bridesmaids were already in matching robes, laughing through hair and makeup and soaking in every part of the morning. Meanwhile, Jarrett was getting ready at a separate location in Deptford with his groomsmen and best “woman,” equally excited and full of anticipation.
Once they were both ready, we all met at the Camden County Boathouse to get dressed and for their first look. It was the perfect way to ground the day before the party started!
We scheduled a first look ahead of the ceremony to keep everything seamless and intentional. If you’re not familiar with the Camden County Boathouse, it sits right on Cooper River, giving you the most beautiful waterfront breeze. We took advantage of the quiet before guests arrived to do portraits surrounded around the gorgeous property. It was overcast so the light was soft and sky – perfect.
Christine and Jarrett also chose to exchange private vows for the two of them before everything officially began.
Their ceremony began at 5:30PM, right along the river, with Christine’s uncle officiating. The light was just starting to shift into golden hour as they said “I do,” surrounded by their families and friends. Guests moved into cocktail hour while we snuck away for sunset portraits—rooftop views included! Their coordinator made sure we had access to the roof for some of the most stunning waterfront views Camden has to offer.
Reception kicked off at 7:00PM and was full of energy, great music (shoutout to SEK Productions) and beautiful toasts. With Foodwerx catering and a cake from Sun Flour Bakeshop, the entire night felt laid-back, fun and just so them. One of my favorite details? Their hashtag: #letsgetliggywithit—perfection.
They included special dances with their parents and Christine’s mother-daughter dance, which was such a sweet moment. As the night wrapped up, the energy was still going strong—especially when the Eagles chant broke out! Surrounded by friends and family shouting “E-A-G-L-E-S,” Christine and Jarrett ended the night on the most high-energy note.
Right after, we sent them off with a glow stick exit which was such unique idea! Since open flames aren’t allowed at the Boathouse, this was the perfect (and fun!) alternative. The glow sticks added a vibrant, playful feel to the end of the night and made for some fun photos. It was such a great way to end the night.
