The Merion Wedding Photographer | Victoria & Demetri’s Greek Wedding in Cinnaminson, NJ

Victoria and Demetri’s wedding day was centered around family from beginning to end!

From getting ready in Mount Laurel to their ceremony in Cherry Hill and reception at The Merion Wedding Venue, every part of the day brought people together. If you’re planning a South Jersey Greek wedding, you’re going to want to hear all these timeline tips for an effortless wedding day! 

Demetri’s family is from Ikaria, Greece and still visits every year. Their wedding included traditions that have been passed down through generations while also creating space for everyone to celebrate together. It was SO cool getting to watch their Greek band play traditional Greek dances at the reception. 

Also a huge shoutout also goes to Kim Smith and her team at Tied Together With Love. She and her assistant were so great and fun to work with. They took such great care of our couple, especially since there were so many moving pieces throughout the day. But she made sure everything flowed seamlessly from one event to the next! 

Getting Ready in Mount Laurel

Victoria and Demetri both got ready at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Mount Laurel.

The hotel offered beautiful spaces for photos, from bright window light throughout the property to the outdoor courtyard filled with trees and gardens. There is even a pond! 

The morning included a few pieces that connected the day to both families, including Demetri’s grandparents’ ring and bracelets gifted to Victoria by her mom and mother-in-law.

One of my favorite getting ready moments happened before the ceremony when Victoria shared a first look with her father. A little later, Victoria and Demetri had their first look before heading to the church. Having that time together allowed them to settle into the day with each other, their parents and their bridal party before everything officially began! 

One of the reasons the day felt so relaxed was because we built the timeline around what mattered most to Victoria and Demetri. Choosing a first look gave them extra time together without feeling rushed and created more room to travel to each location throughout the day. A Greek Orthodox Wedding in Cherry Hill

Victoria and Demetri were married at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The ceremony included traditional elements, including ceremonial crowns, rings, a shared cup and a walk around the altar.

It was so special how involved family members were throughout the ceremony! Rather than watching from the sidelines, loved ones played an active role in many parts of the day.

St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church has been a cornerstone of the South Jersey Greek community for decades and continues to serve families throughout Cherry Hill, Philadelphia and the surrounding region. Located on Mercer Street in Cherry Hill, the parish is known for preserving traditional Greek Orthodox customs while creating space for multiple generations to participate throughout the wedding ceremony. Portraits and Reception at The Merion

After the ceremony, everyone headed to The Merion Wedding Venue in Cinnaminson, NJ.

Before cocktail hour began, we spent a few minutes in the gardens around the property for portraits. This part of the day is always one of my favorites because when you’re finally married, you grab and drink and just enjoy each other for a few minutes before heading into your cocktail hour! 

As a South Jersey Wedding Photographer, one thing I appreciate about The Merion is how many different portrait locations are available without needing to leave the property.

One of the reasons The Merion Wedding Venue remains one of the most popular South Jersey wedding venues is the variety of spaces available throughout the property. With four distinct ballrooms, couples can choose a space that fits both their guest count and wedding style.

Victoria and Demetri celebrated inside The Palace Ballroom, which features sparkling chandeliers, an ivory-and-gold design and a private outdoor patio. It was a beautiful fit for their elegant Greek wedding and gave guests plenty of space to enjoy the evening.

One thing I immediately noticed throughout the day was how smoothly everything flowed. Between the experienced staff, multiple event spaces and all-inclusive approach, The Merion makes it easy for couples to stay focused on their guests and enjoy the experience.

A Dance Floor Full All Night

Once the reception began, the energy never slowed down! Victoria and Demetri included both traditional Greek music and party music throughout the evening. It was SO FUN to watch them all gather on the dance floor, holding hands and dancing together as the Sergiani Greek Music Band brought the music to life.

The traditional Greek dances quickly became one of the highlights of the reception! 

Watching multiple generations join together on the dance floor was such a fun reminder of what weddings are really about.

Throughout the planning process, Victoria and Demetri focused on creating time for family, honoring traditions and enjoying the people around them.

That approach carried through every part of the day.
