I’m a Philadelphia wedding photographer who loves sharing thoughtful planning tips, real galleries and a few travel stories along the way. Whether you're here for wedding inspiration or just dreaming up your next adventure, I’m so glad you’re here. Let me know what you'd love to see more of!
I still love looking back at Sinead and Scott’s Valley Forge engagement session. There was something so easy about the way they photographed together. Nothing felt forced and that is always my favorite kind of session!
Valley Forge gave us so much space to move around, but what really made the photos work was how comfortable Sinead and Scott started to feel together in front of the camera. That is exactly why I love engagement sessions before the wedding day.

Sinead and Scott chose Valley Forge for their engagement photos, and it was such a good fit. The open fields, walking paths and natural scenery gave us a lot of variety without making the session feel complicated.
I love when couples can just walk, laugh, settle in and not feel like every photo has to be overly posed. That is when the session starts to feel more like them.

One of my favorite parts of engagement sessions is getting to meet with couples before the wedding day. I think it is SO important to connect with your photographer before everything is happening all at once.
By the time the wedding day comes, you already know what it feels like to be photographed together. You know how I guide you, you know you do not have to be perfect, and hopefully, you feel a lot more at ease. That makes such a difference when you are choosing a wedding photographer for such a personal day.

Valley Forge is one of those locations that gives you room to have fun. There are open spaces, quiet paths and gorgeous natural backdrops.
For Sinead and Scott, this worked so well because the session could stay focused on them. Not a busy location, not a million distractions, just the two of them spending time together before the wedding season really started moving.
If you’re planning an engagement session in Philadelphia or surrounding counties, I’m here to help! I actually create an in-depth guide focused on the seasons, called “When to Take Engagement Photos in Pennsylvania: A Seasonal Guide“

What I loved most about Sinead and Scott’s session was how relaxed it felt. Engagement photos can feel intimidating at first. Most couples are not used to being in front of a camera and I totally get that!
MANY of my couples say that they’re “awkward” which honestly is my favorite because it is my goal to show you that you’re not! I help guide you into moving, talking, laughing and genuinely having fun.
I promise when you’re with me, you do not need to know what to do. That is my job. This is exactly why working with a candid wedding photographer can help the photos feel more natural.

For couples searching for engagement photos near me or engagement photos near Philadelphia, Valley Forge is such a good option. It feels peaceful, but it is still close to the city.
You get the open-field look without having to travel too far, which makes it a really helpful location for couples who want something natural and easy. It also works well in different seasons, which is always a win.

Engagement photos are not just about having more photos before the wedding! They help you get comfortable, we get to connect and they give you a chance to see that being photographed together is fun!
I actually recommend in my client guide to plan a dinner to keep the night going! You’re both already dressed up and feeling really connected after our session, so many of my couples turn it into a full date night. Then most say it was one of their favorite days during wedding planning.
Sinead and Scott’s session is such a good reminder that the more comfortable you feel before the wedding, the more fun your wedding day photos feel.

A good engagement session should feel simple. Not overly planned or posed, just enough direction to help you feel comfortable, with enough space for real moments to happen naturally.
Sinead and Scott’s Valley Forge engagement session had exactly that feeling. Easy, natural and full of photos that make you even more excited for the wedding day.
