There’s something special about photographing soon-to-be parents in their own home, especially when it’s filled with all the excitement of what’s to come!

I had so much fun photographing Tara and Mark’s West Chester in-home maternity session and I am still not over how amazing it turned out. Tara (who I actually went to high school and cheered with!) is an absolute goddess and seeing her step into motherhood with such grace and confidence was so special.

Their home in Chester County, PA was the perfect reflection of them: relaxed, intentional and cozy. We started in baby’s nursery, which wasn’t finished yet and that’s exactly what made it perfect. The half-painted walls and scattered baby items told such a genuine story of this in-between season, the one where you’re preparing for a new life while soaking in the last chapter of just the two of you.

One of my favorite parts of the session was when Tara and Mark painted “Mom and Dad” on the nursery wall together. It was so fun and one of those moments that perfectly summed up what lifestyle maternity photography is all about: documenting the real story unfolding right at home.

These portraits are full of effortless style! A little editorial, a little cozy and completely real. Their little guy is going to be so loved and I can’t wait to see this next chapter of their story blossom.
