ToggleJordan + Brett 😍 What a DAY at Westwynd Gardens!
These two wanted a laid-back, fun and summery wedding day and they absolutely nailed it! From private vows and espresso martinis (I did in fact get Jordan’s famous recipe) to a greenhouse ceremony and one PACKED dance floor, there were so many little pieces throughout the day that felt completely like them.

Jordan started the day with her girls before heading over to Westwynd Gardens to get dressed, while Brett and the guys got ready at the venue. We had time for the little details, getting ready photos and some portraits before the day really got moving.

I always love this part of the day because everyone is excited, but nobody has quite hit the “okay, we’re actually getting married today” moment yet. There’s still time to hang out, get ready with your people and probably hear someone ask where something is at least five times. 😂

That slower start gave us room to photograph the details and people around them without making the morning feel like one giant photo schedule.
Jordan and Brett decided to have a first look and private vows before the ceremony. We chose the first-look spot based on the light that afternoon, then gave them some time together before the rest of the day picked up.

I loved that they paired the first look with private vows! They got to have that little part of the day for themselves before walking into the greenhouse and getting married in front of everyone they love.

And just to be clear, you absolutely do not have to do a first look. I don’t push my couples into one just because it can make the timeline easier. If you want to wait until the ceremony, we can build the day around that too.
If you’re still deciding, you can read more about that here: Why I Don’t Push My Couples Into a First Look.
After the first look and private vows, we moved into the bridal party and family photos. Jordan had six bridesmaids, Brett had seven groomsmen and their two nephews were part of the day too, so we had a decent-sized group to work through.

This is where having a plan really helps. We know who needs to be where, get through the combinations that matter and then everyone can get back to actually enjoying the wedding.
Because yes, you need the family photos. You probably want the bridal party photos. And obviously we’re getting photos of the two of you! But I don’t think any couple should spend their entire wedding day standing in front of a camera.
The ceremony took place inside the greenhouse at Westwynd Gardens, and it is always such a fun part of the day to photograph. Guests started arriving, everyone settled in and then suddenly it was time!

The greenhouse is one of the things that makes Westwynd Gardens such a unique (and practical!) option for couples who want that connection to the outdoors without having to completely depend on the weather. I photographed one of the first Westwynd Gardens Wedding last year, and I can tell you FIRST-HAND the team has taken such proactive measures by adding air conditioning and heating inside the greenhouse so guests are comfortable year-round!

For Jordan and Brett, the greenhouse gave the ceremony its own setting while keeping the rest of the day connected, which meant more time for their people and the parts of the day they actually cared about.
Now let’s get to the important stuff!!
The espresso martinis.

Directly after walking up the aisle. Jordan and Brett went straight to The Social Co cart and they had espresso martinis waiting for them! They had the cutest glasses that read “cheers” on one, and “to many years” on the other! We of course included their rings in these photos! It was SUCH a sweet moment.
Cocktail hour also gave us time for guest photos, bigger groupings and reception details before everyone headed into the next part of the night! Jordan and Brett even cut their cake during cocktail hour, which was such a fun spin on this tradition!

There were so many little pieces throughout Jordan and Brett’s day that made it feel personal to them.
The light blue bridesmaid dresses, the summer colors, the drinks, the cake, the reception setup and all of the people filling the room became part of the story too. Those details may seem small while you’re planning, but when you’re looking through your gallery later, they help bring you right back to the day.
And then there was the DISCO BALL.
Which obviously deserves its own section. 🪩
Brett made SURE the disco ball happened because it was Jordan’s dream! It was so romantic walking BACK into the greenhouse after all of the dances, speeches and dinner were finished inside the ballroom! The Westwynd Gardens team worked hard to flip the greenhouse from ceremony to a dance floor!

Once the dance floor opened, everyone was ready. The gallery has the big dance-floor moments, the close-up candids and all the people completely getting into the night!
One of my favorite things about having a second photographer is being able to have another set of eyes on the day!

While Jordan and Brett were doing one thing, there were family members talking across the room, friends laughing during cocktail hour or someone doing something completely unrelated to the main action. Those moments are always some of my couple’s favorite photos to have in their gallery!
Jordan and Brett wanted their day laid back and fun! They wanted time for private vows, espresso martinis, their families and friends and a REALLY good dance floor.
And that’s what they got!

Their Westwynd Gardens wedding photography fit into the day effortlessly. We had a plan to make sure they got all the photos they wanted, but there was room for everything happening around it!
That’s ALWAYS the goal when working with us!
If you’re considering Westwynd Gardens as your wedding venue, one of the biggest advantages is how much of the wedding day can be thoughtfully built around the property itself.
You have the greenhouse, the surrounding grounds and multiple spaces that can each serve a different purpose throughout the day, which gives you a lot of flexibility when we start planning your timeline. Getting ready, first looks, family photos, cocktail hour and evening portraits can all be approached based on what matters most to you and how you want the day to feel.
Westwynd Gardens is located in Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, in Chester County and it’s a great fit for couples who want a venue with intention and space that connects you and your guests to the outdoors throughout the entire day.
If you’re still figuring out how all of those pieces fit together, I have a whole guide on How to Plan an Effortless Wedding Day Timeline.

Nope! A first look is completely up to you. Jordan and Brett chose to do one and also had private vows, but if you want to wait until the ceremony, we can absolutely build the timeline around that.
That depends on your family list and how many combinations you want. The best thing you can do is make the list ahead of time so we know exactly what we need and can keep things moving.
Absolutely. We can build some couples photos, family photos or guest photos into cocktail hour while still leaving you time to actually enjoy it.
Yes! Jordan and Brett wanted nighttime photos, so we built that into their timeline and got some amazing shots of them on Westwynd Garden’s Balcony! It takes about 5-7 minutes so you can get back to the dance floor.
Start with your timeline. Give yourself enough time to get ready, don’t schedule every single minute and decide ahead of time what photos actually matter to you.
Then leave some room for everything else.
Because someone is probably going to lose a shoe, somebody will need a drink and somebody’s grandma is going to make everyone laugh at exactly the wrong time. 😂
And honestly? Those are the moments I want to photograph too.
