Courtney and Chris wanted something a little more modern, edgy and different for their engagement session, so when we found Cira Green in Philadelphia, we knew it was the perfect fit.
The main winner? The Philly skyline views from the rooftop!
If you love classic Philadelphia weddings and historic venues, you may also love this secret wedding venue right down the street from Rittenhouse Square.

Cira Green sits high above University City with some of the best skyline views in Philadelphia. The rooftop park overlooks Center City and the Schuylkill River, giving the space an open, laidback feel while still being right in the middle of the city. Between the wide green lawn (which is actually 1.2 acres, which seems crazy for the city!), modern city backdrop and sunset views, it’s one of my favorite Philadelphia engagement session locations for couples who want a mix of skyline photos and a more relaxed atmosphere without constantly weaving through busy streets.

Cira Green is a rooftop park in Philadelphia with open green space and views of the city skyline, which makes it such a fun location for engagement photos! You get the skyline feel without being directly in the middle of busy city streets, which helps the session feel more personal and relaxed.
That balance worked so well for Courtney and Chris.

One of my favorite parts of this session was getting to photograph the Philadelphia skyline in the background.
Especially closer to sunset, the light and city views made everything feel really clean and modern without taking attention away from them.
It felt very “Philly Philly” in the best way.
Philadelphia engagement sessions always feel so different depending on the location, which is one reason I also love photographing at different locations throughout the city, like this one at Elfreth’s Alley in Old City and Race Street Pier right by the Ben Franklin bridge.

I actually used to cheer with Courtney in high school, which made this session even more special for me!
It is always such a full-circle moment getting to photograph people you have known for years during such an exciting season of life.
And honestly, Courtney and Chris made this session so easy because they were completely themselves the entire time.

If you’re looking for engagement photos near me or a more modern location in the city, Cira Green is such a good option.
From a photography perspective, here’s why it works so well:
It is one of those spots that feels simple but photographs really well! I especially LOVE the clean lines of the architecture. The sun reflecting off the buildings was a vibe!

A good engagement session should feel like you.
For Courtney and Chris, that meant choosing a location that felt a little more modern, relaxed and connected to the city.
Cira Green gave them exactly that.
